Mail Servers
If you are going to
have echoPANEL manage your email accounts, you must
have one of the supported mail servers installed on
your server.
The two we have
elected to support are
SmarterMail 4.X, 5.X and
MailEnable 3.X. They are both seasoned products,
affordable and easy to install. SmarterMail is a
web-based application that requires .NET 2.0,
whereas MailEnable is a traditional Windows application.
We have been using
SmarterMail since it's inception and are extremely pleased
with the software, and equally, MailEnable receives great
reviews from its loyal customers.

FTP Servers
In addition to MS FTP,
which ships free with Windows Server 2003, echoPANEL
also supports
Serv-U FTP Server
6.X. We have used both
products over the years, and each have their pros
and cons, but all in all you can't go wrong with
either solution.
